Full name Justin Steward Furstenfeld was born December 14th 1975.

Lead Singer, Producer, Guitarist, Lyricist from Hoston, Texas.
His first band was entitled “The Last Wish” which he played in untill 1995.  He then went on to perform solo for a brief time under the name 5591 which was his patient number when being admitted to a mental institution. [Read more]

Approaching Normal

Approaching Normal is Blue Octobers 6th Release.  It was released in March 2009 and has spouted such hits as “Dirt Room”, “Say it” and “Should Be Loved”.

There were various version of the album released (Explicit CD / Clean CD and Vinyl).  The Vinyl version includes 4 extra tracks not found on the Explicit CD release.

Foiled For The LastTime

This 2 disc release was Blue Octobers 6th album.  It was released in 2007 by Universal Records.

 
Disc one (also entitled “Foiled +”, is an extended version of their previous release “Foiled” which also includes  a remastered version of  “Calling You” as well as remixes of “X Amount of Words” by Paul Oakenfold and Carmen Rizzo.
 
Disc Two is a live concert entitled “Teach Your Baby Well” which was recorded in March 2007 at Stubb’s, Texas.

The first DVD release by Blue October was Argue ith a tree.

Released in 2004 at the same time as the accompanying double CD this DVD features all of the tracks that can be found on the album and also an extra track “18th Floor Balcony”

As well as the live concert the DVD has various Bonus features which include:

  • Confessionals – Fans share their stories on the subject of how the music of Blue October has influenced them and their lives
  • Sidewalk Chalk – Justin Furstenfeld gives backgrounds to the songs found on history for sale.
  • Soundcheck footage and also an early version of  “Shes My Ride Home” which was later to be recorded on the album “Foiled”
  • Various music videos such as “18th Floor Balcony”, “Calling You” and “Razorblade”

Foiled by Blue October

Foiled was recorded way back in 2005 and was released in 2006.

By 2007 this album (Blue Octobers 5th Release) went Platinum in both the United States and Canada.

The First single ”Hate Me” got to number 2 in the VH1 Modern Rock Charts,  followed by “Into The Ocean” which peaked at number 1 on VH1

In US and Canada the hidden track “It’s Just Me” was included and throughout Europe this was replaced with the tracks “Independently Happy” and “Chameleon Boy”

This is the First live album by the band and was recorded in June 2004 at the Lakewood Theater, Dallas, Texas.
 
This was a double CD release which also was recorded on DVD by Universal Records.

History for Sale

The third album by Blue October is Hisory fo Sale.  It was recorded at the Sun Arts Studios and the Stomp Box Studios in Texas.

It was released in April 2003 on Brando Records and then re-released by Universal records in August 2003.
When this album was re-released by Universal an extra “Hidden” track was added (Calling You - Acoustic version).
For those people lucky to have the first release there were videos included which showcased Blue October during the recording process.
